Masculine Grunge Birthday Card

Hello friends,

As always I have a few cards to share with you today.

For my first card I changed things up a bit.  I needed a masculine birthday card and decided to go for the grunge look.

Lots of layers and distressing with paper from Tattered Time.  I embossed the die cuts for a 'rusty' look and crackle paint for texture and added interest.

Green and Gold Awesomeness

Essentials by Ellen Pin-Sights Challenge was the inspiration for my next card.

I used alcohol inks on yupo paper for my background, added some gold embossing with Essentials by Ellen Bokeh Dots.  For the sentiment I used Lovely and Positive Word dies, both Essentials by Ellen.

Just a Note

I made this card with Paper Smooches March Challenge in mind and tried something new .....

I used Paper Smooches Square die for the front of my card but I didn't want the entire front to be die cut so I used a chipboard spacer. And it worked!  My big shot did groan a bit.... but she came through for me :)  I attached the die cut to acetate and adhered this to my watercolor smooshed background.  This entire panel was adhered to an A2 top folding card.  Added a few splatters and glitter dots to the front.

Monochromatic card

After watching Jennifer McGuire's video on Monochromatic coloring I had to give it a try.

I masked off different widths of masking tape and used white pigment ink to create a plaid background.  I applied versamark to the die cut rectangle for a darker shade of green. The stamps and dies are Paper Smooches Blossoming Buds.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful week!

4 cards and a stencil

Good Morning Special Peeps!

I hope you're enjoying your week-end and having warmer weather if you've endured the cold this week.  According to my weather app we're expecting temps of 95 in Gilbert today.... how I wish I could put some sunshine in a box!

Back to crafting..... I have 4 cards which I made last week-end and didn't post.  4 cards with one stencil, lots of inking (and mess) and loads of fun!
top left - Stenciling and stamping (over the stencil)
top right - resist technique with transparent texture paste
bottom left - stenciling with water on distress ink background
bottom right - resist tecnique with heat embossing

Top left was the favorite (unanimous family decision 😉) so I'm linking this to A2Z Scrapbooking Stencil Challenge

Hero Arts stencil, stamps and dies were used for all the projects.

Thanks for your visit!

Just for you ....

My next card is for the Altenew March Inspiration Challenge and here are the gorgeous colors:-

And here is my card:

I used Penned Rose stamp set, Zig markers and a touch of Prisma pencils to deepen the color.  Fussy cut the rose and leaves, masked off the corner and used Distress Oxide inks.

Thanks again for visiting x

Sympathy card

The challenge at CAS-ual Fridays is Off the Edge which was my inspiration for this card.  I kept it pretty simple being a sympathy card and decided not to add any embellishments.  I did however decorate the envelope.... need to do more of that (note to self 😃).

The stamp set I used is CAS-ual Fridays Casual Comfort.  I used my MISTI which made lining up the inside much easier.
Here is the inside of the card:

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to be back tomorrow to share a few more creations.

Have a wonderful Saturday!

Spotlighting Friend

Hello friends!

I trust you've had a wonderful and creative week-end.  I've had fun getting inky (my nails are proof of that and my messy craft area) .....

My first card is a simple one but a technique that I love!  Spotlighting.

I used Gina K Designs A Year of Flowers 2 and the Friend die is Cas-ual Fridays, which I colored with Zigs, layered on black fun foam and added Glossy Accents.

I'm playing along at Time Out Challenges who are celebrating their 3rd Birthday.  Congratulations!  I'm also linking this to Simon Says For A Special Lady.

Doodles .....

This card was inspired by the Doodles Challenge at Addicted to CAS.  I love 'doodling' so of course I had to participate in this fun challenge.

I masked off my stamped image and used Brusho's for the background and then I doodled .... and doodled .... 😂.  Simple and fun!

I'm also linking this to STAMPlorations CAS Challenge.

How beautiful .....

The challenge at Rubbernecker Challenge is St Patty's day, hence the green background.  I'm also linking this to Simon Says Work It Wednesday

I had fun playing with Distress Oxide inks.... they are so yummy!!
I kept this card very simple. My aim was to create an imperfect watercolor appearance (without having to do the work).

The stamps are Rubbernecker stamps.  Love the sentiment - flowers CAN turn an ordinary day into a beautiful one.

I hope your day is a beautiful one!

Beauty and Simplicity

My last project I'll be sharing today is an Art Journal project inspired by a number of challenges: Rubber Dance Color Challenge, HLS Watercolor Challenge - Smooshing and Mixed Media Challenge - BooksSTAMPlorations Mixed Media ChallengeCraft Stamper TIMI Challenge and Simon Says Make Your Own Background.

Zig markers

Stencils - Dot Fade, Stripes, Pebble Background

Faux Book Card

Hello and Happy Sunday!

I only have one post today but it's a long one .......

Today's card is a Faux Book Card which turned into quite a project!  It's for my daughter's birthday which is coming up in May.  She's most upset that she can't see what I made .... normally she 'crits' my work too so I had to go solo on this one! 😅

Here are a few close-up's showing the little 'bookmark' and the spine where I stamped her name and birth date:

A few more shots showing the inside of the 'book':

Africa smiled .......

Hello friends,

My project today is one that is very near and dear to my heart.

My inspiration came from the challenge 'WORDS THAT ARE SPECIAL' at A Vintage Journey.  Whilst going through the gorgeous creations from the DT, I came across Jennie's amazing project.  I was so inspired, and I set off to look through my napkin collection and then I saw this one ......

....... and I knew immediately what my project would be about. Africa.

I tore sections of the napkin (which traveled with me all the way from Cape Town, South Africa) and transformed a wooden plaque into this:-

Here is a close-up.  Unfortunately I don't know who wrote this so I can't give them credit.
It's so beautiful I get the chills every time I read it.

Thank you for popping in and sharing a part of my story with me ....
