Inspired by a Film: "Out of Africa"

Hello friends and Happy Saturday!

The challenge over at AAA Cards is to make a card inspired by a film.  When I saw the challenge I immediately thought of the movie Out of Africa and here is the link to the trailer if you're interested in watching: Out of Africa.  

And here is my card:

I used stamps from Kitchen Sink Stamps and Studio Calico.  I really had fun with this and even more so with the subject being so close to my heart ❤.

Altenew Inspiration Challenge

My next card was inspired by Altenew's Inspiration Challenge: 

The stamps and dies are Altenew's Penned Rose stamp set and Halftone stencil and I used my Zigs to color the images.

Next up is a card for Paper Smooches October Challenge and CAS-ual Fridays, for Breast Cancer Awareness month.

A simple card using the inlaid die cut technique on a stencil background with Paper Smooches Square die.

I'm also playing along in Simon Says Anything Goes.

      

Shades of Concord & 9th

As the title suggests this was inspired by Where Creativity meets C9 and the challenge is to to create projects using the design theme colors of the Concord & 9th logo.

I used a number of stamps and dies from Concord & 9th and a few different inks to try and replicate the color. 

I'm also linking this to Simon Says Anything Goes.

Just the Month

The challenge at StampTV this week to use the allocated color for your birth month which in my case is orange (for May). It doesn't hurt that I love the color so I got a little carried away and made a few cards:

I used Brusho's for the background - love them, you're never know what you're going to end up with .....

The flowers were colored (actually scribbled) to match the artsy painted look of the background and it's always fun to color outside of the lines! ☺

Creative Crop

Hello friends!

As per my usual weekly Sunday post, I have a few projects to share. My first card was inspired by the challenge at StampTV Creative Crop. The stamp set I used is Gina K's Peony Wishes.

I had fun with this card and got all inky playing with the Mini Mumsy stencil from The Crafter's Workshop.

Happy Birthday

For this card I used Altenew Wild Hibiscus and I thought it teamed up perfectly with Essentials by Ellen paper pack Modern Graphics which I used for the background.

I'm entering Essentials by Ellen MIUM and Winnie and Walter WCMD.


    

Christmas Tag

Next up is a mixed media Christmas Tag with lots of layers: DO inks, texture paste, embossing, cheesecloth and Cheery Lynn Poinsettia die cuts. To add sparkle, I dipped the little foam balls in glossy accents and then in clear 

rock candy (and they almost look like candy balls ☺)

The background for this card was an experiment which didn't go according to plan so it ended in my unused project box. I thought it would be the perfect showcase for the lovely bold hello die (and the die cut letters have already been used on a second card).  Don't you love it when you can make 2 cards from one die :)
