Celebrate

Hello and Happy 4th July!

I thought it apt to post this card first, in honor of today.

I find CAS cards challenging at times but today I thought I'd get out of my comfort zone ...... and I had a blast!

Supplies:  DO inks, Paper Smooches Positive Strokes 2, Sizzix die

Happy Birthday!

My next card was inspired by Jennifer McGuire's latest video - block watercolor stamping.  Being the 'technique junkie' that I am, I was excited to try this technique again.  Here is the link if you've not seen it.

I made a few other backgrounds in different colors but decided to go with the red / blue combo.

The stamp set is Gina K Design's Daisy Delight.

I'm participating in the following challenges: Less Is More, SSS Red White / Blue, SSS Anything Goes, HLS CAS Challenge.

You are my MOST favorite

And lastly a one layer card..... 😊

I used my heart die cut as a mask and applied ink with stencil brushes for a subtle look.

Love that sentiment!

I'm playing along at AAA Cards.

Thank you for visiting me today and have a great week!

Stencil cards

I'm back with another quick(ish) post 😊.

The challenge at Simon Says Stamp is 'Stencil It' .... so I've been playing with stencils .... and more stencils.

A few simple cards .....

And lots of playing ....

And here is the card I'm entering:-

Very simple and subtle.
I decided not to add any embellishments.  I wanted simplicity.

I'll be linking this to Simon Says Anything Goes and HLS Watercolor Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hello my friend

Hello friends!

The challenge over at StampTV this week is to create envelopes.  My card is bigger than an A2 card so I made my envelope from cardstock.  I'm also entering HLS July Watercolor Challenge and Simon Says Anything Goes.

Supplies:
Daisy Delight and Better With You stamps (Gina K Designs)
Hello die (MFT)
Gansai Tambi Watercolors
Prisma pencils

Celebrating 4th July

A fun card celebrating 4th July.  The background was created using Rubbernecker Watercolor Stripes and distress inks.  I'm linking this to Rubbernecker 4th July Challenge and Simon Says Anything Goes.

Thanks for visiting and have a great week!

Mixed Media 'Be the YOU'

Hi there!

This project started off as a one layer card and then my direction changed completely and the final result is a multi-layer mixed media project - and I enjoyed every minute of creating it.

I was inspired by this photo and used the colors in my project.

http://rubberdance.blogspot.de/2017/06/rubber-dance-june-colour-challenge.html

I used Distress Oxides for the focal image and the background canvas. The sunflower (CTMY stamp) was colored with prisma's after lifting some of the background color. Added some stenciling to both the focal image, and the background with modeling paste.  Stamped the sunflower image repeatedly on the canvas for continuation.  For texture and interest I layered corrugated board after painting with gesso and distress paint.  To finish off the sunflowers I added glitter glue and prills to the centers and lastly a burlap bow and tissue tape.
